Today we decided to show you all a quick 5 step tutorial on how to make a no sew window valance! This type of window display is great for kitchen and bathroom windows, or any smaller windows that just need a little somethin' somethin'. This is so simple you won't even believe it! Lets jump right in!
You'll need: A curtain panel (we used a store bought 84 inch panel), a curtain rod, and ribbon/rope.
Cut 2 pieces of ribbon or rope and tie each of them in a loop. Your loops should be the length you want your valance to be. Ours is 16 inches long.
Place your curtain rod through the curtain panel.
Lay out your curtain panel so its flat. Fold and scrunch from the bottom of the curtain panel moving upwards. Keep folding and scrunching until you get the desired length you want your curtain valance to be. (We chose 16 inches in length.)
Once you fold and scrunch to the desired length, loop each rope around the top of the rod and around the bottom of the curtain panel on each end of the curtain.
Pull and play around with the fabric to get it the exact shape you want, creating a swag in the middle and two tails on each end.
And voila! There you have it, beautiful no sew curtain valances!
NOTE: Some patterns work better then others. We have made these with a continual geometric pattern (below) and a pattern with more detail at the top of the curtain (above). Both of these worked well for us!
