A Whimsical Vintage Easter Tablescape

We can't believe we are already in the month of April and decorating for Easter! If you are coming from The Grace House , welcome! Isn't Jennifer's space to die for?! We are so happy to be teaming up with a group of talented bloggers who are all sharing Easter decor ideas, so be sure to check out the list at the end of this post for links to the other blogs in this "hop".

Today we will be sharing a whimsical Easter tablescape we set up in Kim's dinning room! Even though we like to decorate with cute bunnies and eggs we celebrate Easter in remembrance and gratitude of what Jesus did for us by dying on the cross for our sins and rising from the dead three days later. The resurrection of our Lord is the true reason we love and celebrate Easter!

Easter Decor

I decorated this tablescape using all things I already owned. The only thing I purchased was the fresh flowers for the mini vases. The cherry blossoms in the tall blue and white vase are faux.

Linens

I started with a pastel print tablecloth and then layered these cute ruffled linen runners three across the table. I bought all of these at Homegoods last year. Instead of using all matching napkins, just for fun I used three different types. I folded and tied them to look like bunnies ears. I've included a quick tutorial at the end of this post.

Dishware

Next I layered my dishware starting with the dinner plate from my china wedding set. Instead of using the matching set, I mixed a vintage white salad plate followed by these cute bunny plates I bought at Homegoods last year. Then instead of using the matching coffee cups and saucers I used my collection of various vintage tea cups for a fun eclectic look.

Vintage Pieces

For a special touch I used antique blue and white china for the mini floral vases. I found this "Flow Blue" pitcher at a garage sale for $5! I purchased this sweet cream and pitcher set at an outdoor flea market in Switzerland several years ago. The small antique blue and white tureen below is a family heirloom. I love mixing in antique china pieces for a bit of character and vintage charm.

I used three different types of napkins for a fun eclectic mix.

2. Fold napkin lengthwise.
